Like an idiot I've managed to smash the panel on my Dell Ultrasharp 2407WFP. Anyone know if / where I can get a replacement panel and whether it would be cost effective to repair?

I priced up a panel for a 24 inch iMac at work the other week and I believe they are the same ones, it came to £295 so I would say no if you do it that way. Best bet is to scour ebay for a complete one that doesnt power on but the panels intact.

Cheers for the info. I've actually seen replacement panels for a lot more than that (one quote I had was higher than I paid for the monitor in the first place!)

No problem, I was looking for threads on 2407wfps cos I just ordered mine off ebay 
Im not 100% that it is the same panel by the way but its similar type of thing, both PVA 24". That price I got was trade on a 2nd hand one as well, the one place I could find that offered it new wanted £650! Jokers really, they must have paid a LOT less than that for it surely.
