Currently deciding whether to get a 30" Dell or not... as i use Photoshop/Autocad a lot.. it would be nice to have a bigegr screen than my 20" Belinea to work with.

Has anyone got any pics at all of a 20" widescreen next to a Dell 30". I can only find a 30" next to a 24" but thats no good to me cos' in my eyes, i don't know how big the 24" is next to my 20".

Thanks

i have got the 24" dell & use it with autocad all the time, if the 30" is the same then go for it but i think i read somewhere that you need a different video card ?
the only thing i had to do with the 24" was turn the brightness down from 50 to 20, it was way to bright & hurt my eyes.

hehe.. working bud.

I get around 250-300 a week working a lot of overtime.

My cards a x1900xtx.. should handle it

So do I but I can't afford to buy a 30" dell lol :@

I could scrape the money together but don't think I could sneak it past the better half, plus she might not appreciate it when I tell her the double glazing is on hold to pay for it!

my parents won't let me get a student loan.. cos' uni is near me, theres no point in moving out.. and so i don't have to pay rent etc.

They just think (which i do have to admit/agree myself) that with a student loan, i'll just blow it all on computer parts... which isn't a good thing

TBH moving out is one of the major things about going to UNI. Its a cahance to make mistakes and grow up in a 'safe' environment....

My advice - move out, get a shred flat with some mates and enjoy it. I you spend your loan all at once on PC parts then you will have to live of value baked beans..... And hopefully not do it again :-)

Moving out is definately the way to go :)
I graduated a couple of years ago and have a job not far from you Carbine (Malvern) and its slowly paying off the student loan but to be honest the tiny amount that comes off your pay check isnt all that noticable ;)

Total thread trash but what the heck, Uni just wouldn't be uni if you stay at home. There is nothing like living with a group of mates for a supply of endless amusing moments. I (like most) managed to blow most of my student loan in one go (nice stereo!) but you soon learn not to do it again! Living at your folks you can never experience the true student life style!

Here you go mate, one Dell 3007wfp sat next to my NEC 20.1"

Gonna be selling the Dell 3007wfp though because its too hench for just email lol.

I used to do a degree in web design, and this monitor was ridiculously helpful, so you can imagine what i did when i had two:

EDIT: By the way, i also moved out for uni, do you honestly think my parents would allow me to ***** my loan on the above?
