DELL Drivers Windows 7

I have been and got myself a copy of 7, but on looking on the Dell Driver Support section of the website they is no drivers for Windows 7?

Is Windows 7 able to load previous OS version of drivers? Like XP/Vista drivers?

Have you tried going direct to the hardware manufacturers website, Intel, Ati, nVidia etc? They will have the most up-to-date drivers . What is the model number of the laptop?
