My mum got one of these with her dell pc. They're good enough and i personally think the res (1680x1200) @ 22" is fine, no idea why anyone is so down on 22"'ers really!

I've also owned a 226bw in the past which is very similar to the E228WFP tbh picture quality wise, just the 226bw was undoubtedly more responsive on very fast moving games and you'd expect the SM2232BW to be pretty much the same as the 226bw, just depends which ones styling takes your fancy more.

Just don't do what i did and get a 24"'er because the wow factor is just so much more, you soon forget how ghosty the 2407wfp is on some first person shooters and realise just how great they are on literally everything else :) but they come at a huge cost compared to 22"'ers.

Thanks for the reply, as ill be playing games on it 90% of the time ill prob go for the samsung. dont know if the whole panel lottery is an issue which is a shame because i like the style of the SM-226BW more so than the SM2232BW.

yeah i agree for now i wont go any higher than 22"

Cheers

:) no worries glad to help

For what its worth i had the 226bw CMO panel which is apparently according to a lot of people the worst of the bunch but i found that once i'd set the colours properly the colours looked great (no blueyness at all ) and the screen was extremely responsive for a tft. Theres calibrating instructions for S / A / C panels on the web also so really you'd be extremely unfortunate to get one with serious issues. Biggest downside to the screen is the lack of any proper adjustment for height and with it being a tn-panel you reallllly need it to be spot on so your looking right at it from the middle, if you can get that sorted the viewing angles really aint an issue. However, if your looking at it from a funny angle then you'll notice sections of it looking darker than others which some people hate.
