Dell Inspiron 640 (express card slot)

newer PCMCIA style slot, i have one too. i presume its there because most chipsets are using a pci-express bus and capable of more than PCMCIA is able to offer, so they put express card 34/54 slots. which is good i guess

About the only thing i know of at the moment that is ExpressCard is the Vodafone Monile Broadband adapter. The Older PCMCIA have things like USB ports, firewire, modems, ethernet, wireless, tv cards, serial ports etc. The newer ones dont have much.

yeh i looked on wiki and nothing exciting.
it did mention some support of 1394 and usb2 wich my laptop already has.
did say you could stick flash memory in so maybe that would be useful.
nothing to see and move along as they say huh.

You can get an Express card slot eSATA adapter. Say goodbye to rubbish USB2 transfer rates, and your bank balance :p
