Is this a good build for money? £720 inc delviery

Intel® Core™ i7-720QM
15.6in Widescreen Full High Definition (1920 x 1080) WLED with TrueLife
6144MB 1333MHz Dual Channel DDR3 SDRAM [1x4096 + 1x2048]
500GB (7,200rpm) Serial ATA Hard Drive
Primary 6-cell 56 WHr Lithium Ion battery
1GB ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD5470 Graphics Card

Tempted to get a newer laptop (I did have a XPS M1530, Thinkpad and a XPS M170, the 1530 I gave to my brother, thinkpad is for work and the M170 is a bit aged)

and not forgetting 10% from Quidco as well (~60 on pre VAT price)

Depends entirely on what you want it to do.

Multitasking will be fine, gaming will be at low (modern games all low)to medium settings because of that GPU.

Not gaming at all, just a nice fast machine that will run everything bar gaming at good speed.

I got a Dell 15 with very similar spec and it is indeed very snappy. CPU runs a little on a toasty side but you can fix that by raising it or getting a cooler and GPU is also good enough for Source stuff and some older gaming.

thanks - is the price good?

A similarly specced Vaio E-series with same GPU, HDD and RAM but with a lesser corei5 processor would be £40 more. Not sure on other brands, am sure you would be looking at +or- £50 so it seems a fair deal for what you want. On the plus side that screen is a very good.

EDIT: Plus the VAIO upgrade to 500gb HDD is a freebie offer, normally £60 more.
