dell laptop only showing one core

my dell laptop is only showing one core under task manager, i've checked the bios and dual core support is selected, and there are 2 cores showing under device manager, is it normal to show only 1 under task manager ?, the cpu is a T5200 @1.6ghz dual core and i'm running visa home premium.

In device manager does it say ACPI Multiprocessor PC in the "computer" tab?
All I can think of... :confused:

nope it says ACPIx86-based pc

i did do a fresh install when i got the laptop to get rid of all the pre installed junk, have i done something wrong when doing the install.

In the performance tab of Task Manager, go to View|CPU History|One Graph Per CPU.

i've downloaded "Intel® Processor Identification Utility", and it shows both cores to be working so it looks like it's working ok but not showing up in task manager for some reaseon.

Does Vista say differently? My XP says that for my T2300 and T2350 on different PC's.
