Hi,

I have come accross two laptops now (dell) that have been running slow. I checked the power management features and according to them the laptop is running on "maximum performance" but apon checking my computer properties the cpu speed is inducated a lot lower than it should be, for egsample the dual core 1.83ghz laptop was running at 997mhz

Thanks in advance for your help :)

Because it only goes max when you are actually needing it.

If you want them to stay at full speed, change the power scheme to Home/Office Desk.

yeah I tried all the different schemes "full power" "max performance" etc with no avail.

Thanks Raymond Lin, do you know how I can deactivate this?

check the bios, if the "speed management" thingy has been turned off (sorry cant remember the name of it, and have new kitten in arms so cant start laptop to tell you) then the speed will be set to lowest by default!! seems unbelievably stupid to me, but thats how it works
