DELL Monitor Warranty is Ace!

I am on my third SP2208WFP from Dell. Each has had its own annoying problem. The first had a dead pixel, the second had severe differences in brightness on different parts of the screen and the third has an annoying buzzing sound when brightness is set under 95 (which is far too bright). 'tis frustrating, but hopefully I can get a decent one fourth time round!

/Edit/ am being refunded. Now I just need to search for a screen to replace it.

HI Roadie, How do you get on with the SP model as we tried one the "Truelife" glossy screen was way to reflective for normal office use we, tried it in different locations but still no good.

Have you thought about asking Dell to replace it with the Ultrasharp 2208WFP new model better product than the SP2208WFP

I used the SP2208WFP quite often in the office whilst evaluating the different monitors I received. I think in bright conditions like an office with overhead lighting, the reflective screen is distracting. However, at home I didn't notice any reflectivity.

As above, I am being refunded, as I think both Dell and I are tired of dealing with replacements. Now I just need to find another 22 incher to buy...

To the OP. You should send a link to this thread to your Dell contact. 2500 views of your experiences with dell is really bad publicity and might motivate them to sort you out. I myself am considering a new monitor soon and will certainly consider Dell's poor support.

on the flip side though my RMA experience has been faultless, best contact ive ever had from any company dealing with a return..

Big Wayne , don't get a refund ask for an Upgrade! Dell will always sort it, the best 22" is Ultrasharp 2208WFP TN/Film though but better than the SP2208WFP they will definitly replace it with one of those they may even go up

They will always refund first - easy option - but they do upgrade usually on the third replacement or due to an unresolveable problem

Also if you bought from OCUK and Dell refund , they will refund OCUK so you'll have to do the chasing around to get the refund back from OCUK as they'll need to check with Dell blah blah
