Dell motherboard front panel headers????

I have a dell XPS where the PSU went bang on it as they do. I ordered a new PSU only to find the fittings are custom to Dell, so you can't use any other PSU with the case as the screw holes don't align.

I decided to order a new case. Only to find when stripping out the motherboard that the front panel headers are well.... not quite normal!

It's one big long strip and has a custom cable from the case.

Is there anything I can do to modify this in anyway. How is it possible to hook up the front panel connectors to a new case?

P.S. I deteste Dell. Just another reason why no one should ever ever ever!!! buy an OEM computer... EVER!!!

XPS is a bit vague, what model is it?

Most fairly recent Dell PCs that look like they’ll take a standard ATX PSU, will take a standard ATX PSU.

If this model is proprietary enough to need a special PSU then I’d be surprised if the motherboard would transfer to a standard case without some modification.

As mentioned re-drilling the Dell case to accept the ATX screw pattern would be an easier option than trying to modify the front panel connections.

Personally I think the problem people have with Dell PCs is that at first glance they look fairly standard, it’s only when you get down to the nitty-gritty that the differences become apparent. No one seems to berate Apple in the same way for using proprietary designs and components.

Unfortunately the way it mounted, drilling new holes wouldn't have been an option. It never sat right. Big massive gap and just... it was a mess. If I could have drilled new holes I would have.

I have put a request in for a cheap 775 board in the MM. I'll swap out the mobo as well and burn the Dell one!!!

The S775 reference gives some idea of the PCs age, but I'd still be interested in knowing which model it is.

I assume the burning is in jest? It will have some second-hand value even partially stripped.
