Hi all, my current laptop is a HP pavilian DV6000

Its 120GB drive, 1GB ram, T2350 1.86GHz and vista (I hate vista) and its starting to get abit dated now.

I only have a laptop at home so i use it for everything....web surfing - banking - ebay - email etc etc and the odd old school game - i use my PS3 for all the new games.

Anywho i've seen loads of laptops on dell outlet around £300 which is the price i have been looking at.

The spec i want is at least:
4GB ram
250GB HDD
Windows 7 - I've not used this yet but hear its good.

I've noticed these laptops:

But it comes under as 'Scratch / Dent'

How bad are these scratch / dents?

For abit extra money i can get a certified refurbished model, are they ok?

edit: About 20minutes ago there were LOADS on there....they have none left now... awh :(
edit2: Ahaha ignore me i was been silly, I had accidently switched to desktops instead of notebooks

Refurbished ones are basically brand new. Had two of the 1545's from there and both are brand new looking. Don't think ill ever buy brand new from Dell cause the Outlet store is so good!

Scratch/Dent are a luck of the draw from what i have read. Some people report no scratchs or dents at all, whilst some others say that there are noticeable scratches. I highly doubt Dell would resell ones that look awful, so i'd be pretty confident in saying that the scratch/dent are okay.

Cool thanks.

What about the spec of the laptop i posted? I'm a little bit 'out of touch' with recent specs so not really sure what to go for!

For £300 thats a pretty good deal, especially since it comes with the 1 year warranty too!

My brothers 1545 is similar specced but with a 320Gb HDD and a Radeon 4330 256mb certified refurb which cost £349. That was a month or two ago and there was only one left so i was lucky.

The machine is very fast, i was surprised by the T4200 cause I thought it would be like the old Pentium D's, but it beats a lot of Core 2 Duo's out there!

Depends on what you are using it for. He uses it for iTunes, Uni work, internet browsing, HD movies and its more than enough for those.

Anyone got a insp 15xx? I just wanna know what the weight\battery life is like on them... I'm half tempted to say screw it to the idea of a 13.3" laptop and get a 15" :)

I've got a 1557 (got it yesterday).

Its lighter than my M1530 by about 20%, can't comment on battery life as it has been on mains since last night!

All the ones on outlet are 1555's, they're apparently just shy of 6lb, which is twice that of the UL30A-X1. Not too bad I guess :)

I shall ponder.
