Dell Perc 6

Hi all,

I have installed a Dell Perc 6 and covered the 5/6th pins. My server now boots up but misses the Perc boot screen and goes straight to EXRI. Any ideas?

Running on a board with an Intel RAID controller which is enabled by any chance?

I had the same problem and the only way to fix is was to disable the Intel RAID to get the card to appear then disable the PERCs BIOS, then I could re-enable the Intel RAID controller.

Down side for me was that I could not boot from the PERC and still use the Intel RAID array, but with the PERC BIOS disabled I could boot from the Intel RIAD array and still use the PERC in Windows.

I have an Gb g1 Sniper 3. The Sata mode selection is set to ACHI not RAID. The marvel ata config is also set to ACHI. There is stuff about boot mode selection set to UEFI and legacy.

Have you tried booting without covering the pins on the card? It isn't always necessary.

Yes it would not boot properly. I covered the front side of the 5/6 pins. Do i need to do the back side as well?
