Purchased a Dell 1721 notebook on 30/12/07 and its till in pre production, this seems a hell off a long time ? There were as far as I could see no delays on these models? Whats the general experience of folks who have ordered ?
 
To be fair you only ordered it couple weeks ago and we've had Christmas and New Year in there. I'd normally get a laptop 2-3 weeks after ordering.
 
i believe they have a status page somewhere on the dell website telling you delays on various models. It could be that?

yes maybe not being fair, I do have a delivery date of on or before the 18 jan, which seems along time, too impatient :eek:
 
I've got 3 on order that were ordered before Christmas and I haven't got them yet so the 18th would seem about right. I know its rubbbbbbish waiting for new toys but times you just have too :p
 
ordered mine on the 24th dec and it said delivery on 22nd jan - had a phone call yesterday and its being delivered tuesday (2 weeks early) Now im happy

Haha, well if it is, Dell are staying very quiet about it!

Ah well, maybe it's for the best anyway, got a criminal psychology exam to study for, so its arrival is inevitably going to distract me from that...:)
 
ah see i wouldnt mind mine now, my placement is getting a bit harder and i would like to be able to take work on the move (lie in bed dong it haha) as oppose to being sat in a chair in my room doing extra work at this pc:p
 
I ordered my 1721 on the 1st of January, it was meant to be here on the 21st..... they out it back to the 26th Febuary!!!... but its been despatched today and will be here thursday!.... so they are getting ontop of things!

They have had a shortage of the screens which come with the "truelife" addition to them.

Yeah, it quoted 25th, but then jumped to 'Out for delivery', checked the tracking and it was showing the next day :D

funny that i got an email on 16th saying it was put back to that date in Feb but on order status it was dispatched, eventually got it on the 21st, although delivery folk forgot about it and one of the guys heading home delivered it !!! Happy with it though, very nice looking machine. If only i could get hold of the 64bit drivers so I can try out vista 64bit.
