Anyone got an idea on Dell's dead pixel policy?

That's a very nice rig you have there! Though the video was quite dark so the screen was a bit obscured...could I be cheeky and ask for a few photos?

I think I had a look at Dell's dead pixel policy a while back, but I think you have to have 5 or more dead/stuck pixels before they'll replace it. I'll look into this more and let you know what I find. Finding a dead pixel is my biggest fear on a new screen so I feel your pain!

edit: Ok, for the ST2410, if you have 6 or more dead/stuck pixels in total, then you can send it back. They have different tolerances for more expensive screens unfortunately...

Do you hear any buzzing/humming noises from this monitor at different brightness? Looks really nice but I've had humming with quite a few monitors in the past so I like to be careful.

Nice one mate, nope no buzzing at all. I very pleased with the monitor, despite that one pixel, but on the bright side at least its black and not red or green!

It might be possible to fix your dead/stuck pixel, try UDPixel first: http://udpix.free.fr/

If that doesn't work sometimes massaging the area helps, use a soft cloth like a clean duster and apply just enough pressure to make the area change colour. Then move over the dead pixel repeatedly.

HDMI carries both audio and video I do believe, but the audio might struggle as there's no built-in speakers...

A lot of people have been buying a sound bar along with it. It has an audio ouput for speaker connection

Ok guys, I got my one today, delivered a couple of hours late (not from Overclockers). The size is quite imposing on my desk, but the sheer room on the desktop is a revelation. It's a great monitor for the price, not the MOST vivid colours, but I am impressed. I haven't had a fiddle with the settings so it may well improve with time.
