On my 2209Wa there is a pull out flap on the left hand side that has the service tag on it. Does your monitor have a similar thing.

S/N beginning "MX" is Mexico it's a US Supplied 24" not purchased from Overclockers or most of the usual UK resellers. Dell UK will not replace a US monitor, all US monitors have serial numbers begining MXxxxxx in addition the part number CC0302 is not the same as the EU/UK variant

Did you buy this through Ebay?

Dell customer support is atrocious, i've had a guy at work beside me on the phone to them for an hour before just being passed around departments whilst trying to explain his problem.

Looking at the mexico tag though it is most likely registered in the US which is why the serial number is not being picked up over here. I'm not sure if they will send you a new monitor from there but it is worth a try.
