Hi

I have a Dell T310 which has two network cards built in to it.

I want to set it up so that I can have both network cards plugged in the switch so that even if one card fails it still works but I need it so that regardless of which network card is used the IP remains the same.

I've probably not explained that very well but I hope it makes sense!

25 years in IT never seen a network card fail.

Seen servers / networks taken out by card teaming..

Team for performance, team for resilience (cards to different switches)

Don't not team to protect against a card failure...

You clearly have never worked with any ST1000SPEX2 :D seen plenty of these crappy things fail

It was just learning as I noticed 2 nics on our server and was just wondering how they would both be used together :)

Newer Intel driver can do it (teaming) in win10 if you have the latest updates.

Switch need to support it too, usually called lacp or teaming or link aggregation.
