Hi

I have a Dell T310 which has two network cards built in to it.

I want to set it up so that I can have both network cards plugged in the switch so that even if one card fails it still works but I need it so that regardless of which network card is used the IP remains the same.

I've probably not explained that very well but I hope it makes sense!

25 years in IT never seen a network card fail.

Seen servers / networks taken out by card teaming..

Team for performance, team for resilience (cards to different switches)

Don't not team to protect against a card failure...

It does look like someone trying to find a use for dual NICs where there's no real need.

Does the OP even have a managed switch that would handle this?

Newer Intel driver can do it (teaming) in win10 if you have the latest updates.

Switch need to support it too, usually called lacp or teaming or link aggregation.
