Nice!

1920x1200 on the U2412M is a welcome change from all of thoese 1080P panels!

A fantastic price compared to the older U2410 too! :D

Without looking at reviews, what is the U2414M like, compared to the U2410?

From what I understand there is no need to upgrade from your U2410 thats for certain.

Isn't the U2412M e-IPS? I don't think E-IPS is the same, I'm sure badass will confirm.

Excuse my lack of Googling skills this early in the morning, but is the U2412M meant to be the successor to the U2410? Have monitor prices dropped so much that this can be introduced for a price 34% lower than that of the U2410? Or have Dell gone for cheaper components/technology this time around? (Does the M signify anything significant?)

Oh, I see, this is standard gamut (among other changes). It's not going to be as popular with photographers, then. (At least not those who use Adobe RGB.) :p

Nope, the U2410 is still superior, especially for photographers, but I'd be waiting for reviews.

The U2412M is an E-IPS, which is a value IPS panel. The U2410 is a full blown IPS, better quality.

P.S. They both come with 3yr warranty too.

E-IPS is still a good bit better than TN though!

I haven't read any reviews yet, but IIRC the U2410 also has more inputs and lower lag than the U2412M...

Gibbo, on the subject of Dell monitors would you mind taking this one off this week only? I would be interested in several then...

We can no longer do the price we were doing a couple of weeks back, basically we were too cheap and DELL got rather upset with us and as we want them to keep selling to us and provide the warranty they do and not block us were do whats required to keep all happy.

As far as I'm aware the U2412M is e-IPS which stands for economy (24"WS LG.Display e-IPS (LM240WU8-SLA2). E-IPS is Enhanced IPS which the U2412M could not have at this price point.

LG.Display started to produce their so called "Enhanced IPS" (E-IPS, not to be confused with e-IPS) panels.

The screen will feature an e-IPS panel combined with W-LED backlighting....

If I didn't already have the excellent u2410 I would be tempted to buy 3 u2412Ms for surround gaming, my pick based on price/features.

Highlights u2412M (£299.99 inc VAT) vs u2410 (£455.99 inc VAT)
brightness : 300cd/m² - 400cd/m²
contrast (dynamic) : 1000:1 (2,000,000:1) - 1000:1 (80,000:1)
standard-gamut (82%) - wide-gamut (110%)
colours : 16.7 million - 1.07 billion
response times : 8ms - 6ms
typical power consumption (maximum) : 38W (72W) - 75W

u2412M : There's also a lack of memory card reader, HDMI/component/composite connections (info from Dell site), if your using this you'll connect via DP or DVI-D and already have a USB2.0 card reader.
