Dell U2412M experiences

The H is a wide gamut AdobeRGB screen, the HM is sRGB.

I've had wide gamut before and didn't get on with it at all because of the difference in colour profiling support in various software. If it was ONLY for Photoshop and Lightroom then it would be fine but this is for multiple uses so sRGB it must be.

Plus, my prints come back how I see them on screen anyway so calibration on sRGB, working in sRGB and shooting sRGB seems to work quite well :)

Interesting thanks Mrk, I shoot in srgb, as I said I currently use the Dell 2405 which I don't think is wide gamut but it's a long while since I researched it. My profile isn't too far off my prints, not perfect but reasonable.

Isn't that largely over amplified by the camera's longer shutter though?

Here's what mine looks like in reality:

Left = U2412M. Right = U2713HM.

If you move around the screen you get the IPS tinge, this is what I meant earlier about people confusing the tinge with backlight bleed:

Yeah that image was slightly overexposed to show the glow. However the box was damaged, so I'm thinking that one dropped. I have a picture at home of it next to another U2412M and you can see that weird green tinge no matter the angle.

Sent those two back since then though.

Out of interest how do you return them? DSR, RMA to OcUK or Dell direct?

I went somewhere else because there were none in stock at OCUK when I needed them, and for one other reason. However seeing them at £199 here I'll wait for the refund to come through and buy em from here.

I had 2 days to play with the U2412M's, love portrait mode.

In hindsight I should've kept the first one, I didn't know that the IPS glow was normal at the time!
