1mm kindly answered this question the best he could in another thread of mixes questions I made, I just also want some other people's clarification...

Could an owner of this monitor take me a photo of a game running in 1920 x 1200 and also 1680 x 1050? i cant comprehend what it would look like. Does it still fill the screen at 1680 x 1050? Does it look as good as 1680 x 1050 as it would on a 22" with native 1680 x 1050??

1:1 mapping...meaning if my 7900GT struggles to do 1920 x 1200 in some games, can I happily say drop it down to 1680 x 1050 and have it look just as good? Im confused with this 1:1 mapping.

I know native is always best, but until I can afford to upgrade to an 8800 its my only option. I dont want to buy a lower resolution monitor for the sake of my graphics card which can be changed later.

Thanks a lot! :)

You wanna see Supreme Commander at 1920x1200 on one of these babies!

This monitor was made for this game :D

As for the scaling issue, I've played games at non-native resolutions before and it's not a problem. You effectively get a bit of anti-aliasing for free as the monitor interpolates the pixels.

I think your logic is sound, go for the better monitor now and put up with scaling until you can update your graphics card later.

Thank you, thank you, I was 99% certain and youve just given me that little push to 100% :D
