I have this case - https://www.overclockers.co.uk/kolink-satellite-plus-aluminium-micro-atx-case-black-ca-02f-kk.html

I would like to a hole in the lid to aid cooling as I have found the CPU runs cooler with the lid off. I then did a test with a lid with a hole in it and found at full chat it ran 3deg cooler

So my choice is:

or
https://www.overclockers.co.uk/demciflex-dust-filter-80mm-square-black-black-cm-006-df.html

Assetics are a concideration

So what are your thoughts and are there any other alternatives or should I just put up with the extra 3deg and leave as is?

The Demciflex would be easier to keep clean. As it's magnetic (comes with a adhesive strip for non-magnetic cases) all you have to do is peel it off, clean both sides and stick it back on again. If you are adding a fan though the Silverstone has the mounting holes and it does look nicer.

What Pastymuncher said. Magnetic for easy of cleaning. You could hot-glue a nice grill onto the filter frame for looks. ;)

To me it's 120mm for sure. 80mm are much noisier fans, and 120mm will move as much air as 80mm at half the rpm, so even quieter. What fan does CPU cooler use? I would not use a fan smaller than CPU cooler fan, so if it's 120mm the vent needs to be 120mm for sure.

I'd consider your options here, how confident are you cutting into that case? How will it look?

If you do it, by all means go 120mm. Not much point in 80mm fans unless you're completely limited for space.
