demon tweaks... what...

Its because i have a sort of OCD... i make decisions based on poorly thought out idea's.

Its a problem, i admit it... But i enjoy myself along the way!

Now i don't mean to be offensive, but that isn't OCD. OCD is where you repeatedly check the door is locked or carry out rituals like turning the light on and off 5 times in case your kids die. Although people often use it to describe themselves if they are fixated on cleanness or things being in order.

Not thinking things through and making poor decision is what most people would diagnose as stupidity.

I did not write that post as a definition of OCD, thus it should not be taken as one.

if i had it would be like this....

I have OCD: By the way for anyone who doesn't know what OCD is here is an explanation: Blah blah... disorder, blah blah. Dr. Whatshisface says OCD is..."blah blah" (Dr. Whatshisface, et al., 2016).

How does OCD in any form lead to what is fast becoming a total joke of a catalogue of random problems one car to the next to the next. After this many issues i honestly would seriously consider going to a warranted new car which you just drive and stay well away from the mechanical elements.

My next car will indeed be a Car with a warranty and be of a spec that im happy with to avoid any tinkering.

Tinkering is fine, tinker away but make sure that you a) have the correct parts b) NEVER throw away or destroy the old ones until you know the replacement is good.

You knowingly fitted an inferior/different part, admittedly like you said you did need to get to work but you cant expect them to give you your money back when you fitted it anyway.

Well you actually did... You used OCD as the qualifier for the second part of your sentence about poor decision making.

Yea I did.
But that still doesn't get them out of miss selling it surely? It is shot anyway.

I'm sorry but everything you did was so wrong. You cant really blame them.

Fitting a part you know is incorrect then complaining about it afterwards is just a foolish way to go about things.

You should probably post threads when you are considering doing dumb stuff, as opposed to posting threads after you've done dumb stuff.

Maybe that way someone could intervene :D

You didn't read it then?

The b6 is fine with a b8.
They have the same valving.

It's only an issue because it's actually far older than they described and actually shot...

Otherwise I wouldn't have cared.

WHAT? SERIOUSLY?

**** me sideways. You deserve everything that's coming to you.

I have had bad problems with this company sending the wrong things and what happened at the weekend was the final straw for me.

Drove up there from Stafford on Saturday after checking the wheels I was after were in stock, which they were on the site showing 'In Stock'. Got there and asked for the wheels, only to be told 'In Stock' doesn't actually mean in stock......What? Just lost out on an £800 order and the rest of my custom. Was pretty irritated to say the least. At least the guy on the desk was very apologetic.

It's pretty normal for car companies not to carry stock for bespoke fitting large items such as wheels and exhausts etc, quite a lot of items are bought to order from the suppliers.

Loads. Tons. Arguably much, much more than you. Thing is, even someone as thick as me knows that mix & match suspension components is a recipe for disaster. You stand that car on its nose just once and you'll know instantly what I mean.

You obviously dont understand the difference between The B6 and B8 shocks then do you.

Exact same damping forces, same valving. the B8 has a 25mm shorter throw...

Even Bilstein said it was fine as my springs were within its tolerances.

The problem is... its not "fitment marks only" its "5 years old and heavily used"

How would a retailer like this have ended up putting 5 year old heavily used shocks into stock as a B grade return? It seems incredibly unlikely. Why would they even accept them back after so long? They surely wouldn't.

Why didn't you notice the damper was shot before fitting it to the car? It should have been easy enough to identify especially since you had an "identical" working one to compare it to.

Exactly... Yet the date codes dont lie.

It seems that the original buyer of the B8 sent them an old B6 in the B8 box back for what ever reason and they took their word for it. They obviously never checked and had it on a shelf for 2 years and recently found it.

It seems they looked at the box, listed it as a B8 and didnt bother looking inside, as they would have found an old used dead B6.
