Let’s be honest, he was a complete fake, but I found him damn entertaining. This short clip of Most Haunted is TV gold and still has me in fits of laughter to this day. Tuesday nights isn’t the same without watching Derek fake a possession and launch something at Yvette’s head

Most Haunted was one of those shows you watched for unintentional comedy and sometimes as part of a drinking game.

It's sad that he passed away but he was a (proven) con-man, he didn't even believe the crap he was spewing himself, or I'd have had a little more sympathy for him were he simply delusional.

I remember watching an episode in the Castle Keep of Newcastle Upon Tyne. Being a native of the area and having visited said keep many times, I know the area very well. There's a scene in it where the team absolutely loses their **** over noise, they claim they have NO IDEA what it is. Right next to the keep is the high level bridge, which runs a train-track ontop, it's very visible and obvious, the noise was a train going by. Excellent for a laugh if nothing else, myself and a few buddies would watch it from time to time with a bottle of rum on hand, take a shot every time someone hears a noise and screams.

He was a conman and I have more sympathy for the people he gave false hope to through his lies and deceit than I do for him. However, I do agree that his family deserve sympathy.
