Although I don't agree with any of the statements above I felt it neccessary to get the post in which says all of the above then it's out of the way.

I agree with what Stoofa doesn't agree with. Good show. Scary clown didn't help.

I've seen him live and he's fantastic. A great showman.

Looks impressive at first but it's not difficult to see how it's done.

He will have switched whatever cards that ML picked with the jack of hearts and the 4 and 6 of clubs early in the trick. At that point it's just a matter of using his 'normal' techniques to make ML name the 3 cards that he wants him to (deliberately making him incorrectly name the jack of diamonds to make it look like an imperfect process). Then at the end he makes it look really impressive by pulling the 3 cards out of the envelope (which he knew he'd make ML name right from the start anyway)

His new shows arn't as good as his first few specials but still very impressive. I can totally confirm most of his physiological tricks are real as I can do several myself and i'm in the prosess of learning others.

Example: The lifting trick where Darren asks a boxer to lift a girl takes him to the side and tell him to do it again but that he wont be able to lift her. He tries and finds it totally impossible to pick her up.

It's very easy to replicate and is a good trick in lines for gigs and such and the best thing is that anyone you do it on, from that point onwards you can switch it on and off.

Its on again on E4 now the sun thing was weird how he put him to sleep, i do have to wonder if they're actors because its hard to belive he could do it!

some of them, possibly, but the sun one was easy for Derren. Simply just hypnotise them as he did.

I'm guessing there is preliminary work which goes on in the background, which we don't see. Similar to the old shows of Paul McKenna, they never broadcast the initial hypnotism, we only see it when he puts them back to sleep. Which is what I presume Derren did in this show.
