Derren Brown

Hmm did they? Missed that. Perhaps there was something on the table to weigh it down? The cloth could have had wires down the corners or something like that.

The thing is, he used the whole weight thing at the start to find the most suggestible audience member, so that explanation wouldn't surprise me.

Anti-mavity box is available for this model ($200.00 extra). Anti-mavity Box allows you to let go of the table while it is floating.

WHAT. Hax tbfh

My partner found out how he did the reading from the cards bit. He just checked out a few magic forums I believe so the information is out there. I don't want to post it here because, to be honest, I'd rather not have known!!!

No stooges though.

I think what makes Derren Brown so popular (apart from the mind games) is that he's such a great showman, there's just something about his persona that's a little spooky, especially in shows like Trick of the Mind etc.

I got his book and tried some of the tricks at work and they work great. One of his books is meant to be excellent and rare and fetches on a bay for approx £150 !!!

Not meaning to de-rail, but in regards to trick or treat. Didn't the person always pick trick? Because it was of a particular font that one way said trick and the other treat. It was how he turned them round to show them that would reveal said way.

I think for one of the shows it was treat, but yes he did decide what the person had 'chosen' by the way he flipped the card.

I remember the one he did years ago where he duped four people and eventually convinced them using his tricks and whatnot to rob a security man with a briefcase.

He set them up, and let them walk down the street towards the van. Three walked past without doing anything, but one person actually went ahead and "mugged" the guy.

Really interesting.

I thought 3 did it and 1 didnt?

Didn't he use colours and music association to trigger them into entering this zone, upon which they would then do things they wouldnt normally. I remember the colour green being everywhere, him having told them to bring an airsoft pistol he had given them to their next meeting, and then had a car drive past playing a very loud song he had played them before.

Was very interesting to watch, funny to see the expression on their face as they leg it down the street with a secuirty box!

One of the most disturbing things I have ever seen was done by Derren Brown. It was during the "Trick or Treat" series and he made a bloke, who'd chosen the "Trick" card, believe he was a ventriloquists dummy and just left him there thinking he was in a box, in empty theatre populated only by freaky mannequins in masks.

Then again, the one with the girl witnessing her own dead body in a car crash was pretty bizarre too.

The zombie one was crazy. The guy played Resi Evil style games a lot so they made him think that a zombie attack was actually happening. The guy freaked.

Oh yeah, I forget about that one. One minute playing that arcade game and the next 'waking up' in a deserted office building populated by zombies.

At least he didn't have three zombie Dobermans jumping through the windows at him though. ;)

I know people who have been to his shows and he only uses certain types of people for his tricks. He is very good though at what he does though.

Isn't it random because he throws an object i.e frisbee etc into the crowd? I saw him live and he did whilst I was there.
