Describe your work's computer!

Just got my new machine actually, which is a Dell M4600 laptop.

Specs:

Core i7-2640M @ 2.80ghz x 4
NVIDIA Quadro 2000M with 2GB GDDR3 dedicated memory
8gb Dual Channel DDR3 SDRAM at 1333Mhz - 4 DIMMS
750gb Hard-drive
Blu-ray Writer
Win 7 Pro (64bit)

I use this with a Dell Ultrasharp U2312HM 23" with LED IPS monitor.

Hmm maybe! Cryptic clue without naming the firm that's no so cryptic for employees, two weeks they announced Q2 core operating profit that was down to £2,002million.

Not exactly that cryptic for non employees who know how to copy and paste a sentence into Google :)

I work as a graphic designer, and the PC I was given to use was: 3gb ram windows 7 32bit! 2.8ghz and an unspeakable graphics card.

Bought a new laptop for work

Intel® Core™i7 Quad Core Mobile Processor i7-3610QM (2.30GHz) 6MB
8GB KINGSTON HYPER-X GENESIS 1600MHz SODIMM DDR3 (2 x 4GB)
NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 650M - 1.0GB DDR5 Video RAM - DirectX® 11
120GB KINGSTON HYPERX 3K SSD, SATA 6 Gb/s (upto 555MB/sR | 510MB/sW)

So its all good :D

What graphics do you design? AFAIK most of the 2d design software (such as Adobe) don't get any benefit from a dedicated gfx card over integrated gfx anyway?

I've always wondered about this too, how professional GPUs aid you in Photoshop. Does the GPU co-work with the CPU in picture transformations and filters? I can kinda understand it more in CAD though because there will be real-time 3D work for the GPU to process.

HP 8440p, M520 i5 CPU with 4gb of ram
WIndows 7 64 bit etc etc

It sounds fast but it was taking a good part of a decade to start up until I asked IT to re-image it for me. Works quite well now tbf.

I'd still like one a little bit smaller and lighter for ease of transport and my docking station monitors are pretty old, but i'm not complaining. My boss even bought me a new laptop bag the other day.

2 x dell 22" screens
intel i5 of some sort.
2gb ram
ATI hd5650 i think
logitech kb and mx510 mouse

I could go into the stock room and upgrade it but there's no need - runs fine.

Office workstation:
Ubuntu 12.04

3 x Tesla C2060

Office PC 1:
Windows 7
2 x Dell 20"
Q6700 @ 2.66GHz
8GB Ram
Tesla C1060

intel celeron @1.6ghz
