I would be thankful for your opinions on a website I'm designing. Its not good, I'm no professional at Photoshop, I'm just trying to save a little bit of money.

The .psd can be downloaded from here

My mum is starting her own Dog Grooming business and just need some ideas and maybe someone who's kind enough to slice into a html for me.

Thanks

People aren't going to give a dodgy file hosting website their email addresses to receive a download link just to look at your .psd file unfortunately.

Just save it as a jpeg and post it in the thread. We don't need to see the layers and fonts used. Just what it will look like on the website.

What you have so far looks good. The font and bubbles work quite well. Not much more to say really, as there's not much else to comment on :)

The next thing you need to do is decide what content is going on the website. Then work the layout around that - not the other way around. Remember, content is king. If it's a lot of text, you'll need plenty of space and well-laid out text. If you're going to have have some call-to-actions on the site (eg. to advertise specific services you offer) you'll need a banner or column to put these in.

You may want to try making a wireframe of the layout first in something like Balsamiq to get an idea of how it'll fit together. Once you're happy with that, move the design into Photoshop to add the colours and fluff, and then finally build the HTML.

Most of the content will be pictures of previously groomed dogs, information on how to contact us (google maps, tel phone).

What a great idea Balsamiq is had a play about with the web demo, really impressed.

re: another thread on here, are you planning to use a CMS at all? Most of us do now, even for small sites like this.

Re 3dcandy I would deffo recommend going down a CMS route otherwise you will be constantly updating the site.
Its the way I'm going from now on

Quite new to this, wouldn't know where to start with a CMS. I'll try and get an example up asap.
