Does anyone know if these issues are normal or not for a Desire on o2 (branded). Cant currently send back to them as not mine but friend i bought it off who is currently away on holiday for a week. :(

1) Doesn't turn off stuck as power off screen for 30 mins +
2) Often after 3 days cant access SD card and needs reboot
3) Vibrate on text writing works for a few words then stops and then kicks back in
4) Texts wont occasionally send even though full signal then when manually retry to send stuck in loop of failed retry and vibrating/beeping until rebooted
5) You tube comes up "network error" which clear then works fine
6) Randomly reboots itself when on satnav/google maps
7) Doesn't pick up wifi always unless once turned on go into setting then it finds it

Cheers for any advice!

Have you tried a factory reset?

Unfortunately that will wipe all your data, like text messages etc :)

that really, if you need to keep your texts and what not you can back up to SD card I m guess I could on my convenstional phone, so I m sure andoird would too.

Try this but use MyBackup (It's available for a 30 day trial) from the Android Market to back up your phone to SD card before you do. If you still have the same problems then take/send it back.

When you shut the phone done it will backup everything to the SD card. This can take a while (mine used to take over and hour). If you switch off back up to SD card phone will shut down immediately.

This is a known problem - I'm not sure if there is a solution for it yet.

Can't help you on the others.

There's a good choice a lot of those problems maybe fixed if you update to Android 2.2 (Froyo).

Is your phone 2.1 at the moment? Try going to Setting -> About Phone -> System Software Update to get 2.2

Been factory reset a few times now still same issues on 2.1 and o2 still not got 2.2 ready yet

Don't want to root it etc incase it is the phone not the software, ah well another week then can return it
