I did some cable tidying today, believe it or not the underside of my desk was a maze of wires from 8x USB devices, amp wires, speaker cables, phone dock cables, power cables!

Just waiting on the Akasa cable tidy velcro wraps now to arrive in the post so I can tighten them up so no stray strands are visible (along the top of the desk where you can see some hanging from the cable tidy hangers the desk comes with).

And obligatory new pano:

Very nice mrk, clean and tidy, I like it. Just out of interest though, don't you think it might be a good idea to use a good surge protector for all your equipment, the one I see on the wall behind your desk does not look like one, although I could have course be wrong.

I'll be honest and say I've never had one or needed one due to the electrics in this house being updated shortly after we moved in 10 or so years ago.

The master box and rcds etc have tripped a few times over the years due to faulty equipment and the house has dealt with them nicely!

Plus the devices connected are not really high draw devices either. PC tower power cable is plugged into the wall outlet whilst everything else is on the extension.

Are they really that important? they cost a bit for a branded one it seems!

I got a good one for like £8, and its got cover for £250,000 ...... def worth the investment imo ;)

New house, new room.

Wide angle has distorted the shape of the picture frames a little :p

Ive never really had the urge to get one myself. Electrics in our house are pretty much spot on. Its just a matter of being sensible and not pluging high draw devices all into an extension thats all.

Pretty much everything in my room inc, TV, PS3, AMP, Laptop power are connected into main sockets then with things like, Ex HD, Mouse, Lamps are plugged into extensions.

The prospect of having a 250k cover SHOULD one damage your components seems tasty, where did you get it?

I really CBA to undo the extension and wiring again though!

But as above, no high draw devices are on it so should be AOK as it has been for many years :D

I love my NADs :D

Tidbit, the grey fat cable you see trailing the floor to the PC, that's the interconnect from amp to sound card! the speaker wires run along the cable tidy hangers on the roof of the underside of the desk :p The interconnect was too fat to sleeve through the hangers :(

The pedestal is from Argos, cost less than a tenner but that was aaages ago now!
