hi mate, see your from the toon as well, lol just wanted to ask what colour is that desk as it looks like the beach and not the oak colour. I am after the very same setup to yours .

how is the corner attached to the side units and do you need to do anything to the side units to fit them thanks or even a picture would be helpfull

do you think if i got the basic desk and a 2 drawer filer and dont put the top on the 2 drawer filer it would go under the basic desk of the right hand side so it acts as the top ?

thanks i still can not decide to go for a corner unit like the pics above or go for a stright line meaning no corner, can u upload some pics of the corner how it is attached ?

i was woundering if i could get a draw and not use the top and then slide it under the basic desk and use the basic desk top for the draws meaning there would be less leg room under the desk but stll have room

you dont need to glue it do u if its a good design it should never need glued ?

With any flat pack furniture it will always last longer if you glue it all together. Mine's not totally glued together anyway, the centre corner piece lifts out and then the big support for the corner piece just removes from the cupboard and the drawers.

I wouldn't slide it under the basic desk if I were you, the corner I have is the perfect shape and size, and it mounts straight onto the sides of the drawers and the cupboards. They're essentially seperate units and the corner piece and it's support just mounts straight onto the side of them.

Had a quick tidy and took some pics of my current setup. :)

Custom made desk using bits from Ikea. This is final setup now as im saving for my own house. :)

thanks could you measure the corner desk from the front cure to the back tip of the desk, i know the desk are 60cm wide but wanted to know how wide the curve is as i will be puting a 27" monitor on there and wanted to know how far it goes back.

thanks

The corner unit needs two end sections for it to stand up stable, just pick the ones you prefer from the modular collection and on the underside of the corner section you attach 4 L shape brackets that screw the whole lot together, its easy enough to do mate however you will need an extra pair of hand to hold it in position whilst you screw the brackets on its abit fiddly :P

Its the Oak effect mate, i think its just the crappy camera i used makes it look brighter than it actually is, Not sure about using the Drawers without a top for under the desk but im sure you'll be able to mod it in some way if you can be bothered lol I'll get some pictures for you later on today when i get in from work mate.

Ok mate heres a picture of the underside of the corner section attached to my filing drawers with 2x L shape brackets

Quick update aswel: Finally got the 1200 Up and running :) Still require another 2x 24" Monitors, one to replace the sick one on my older system and the other to go duel on the 1200. PS also need another decent chair haha

thanks for that just one more question how are the back wood supports attached the ones that run along the corner unit to the side supports, you can see it in the picture you took there is another support running along the back ?

cheers

The drawers have pre drilled holes in so the back supports on the corner unit simply screw into the side drawers with the screws provided, its a breeze to do mate as long as you have a friend to help hold it in place whilst you use the screwdriver :) The underside of the corner unit does not have pre drilled holes for screws when you come to attach the L shape brackets so screwing them on is abit harder.

Hmm, something new to report about my Eyefinity setup posted previously...

the (brand new) screen on the right which is hooked up to the DisplayPort adapter took a tumble one morning when I got out of bed and groggily stumbled over to switch it on. So I don't advise my stack-o-books cost-saving measure to anyone. :p

Seems to be fine apart from a small scratch, it's right in the middle though. Luckily it's not noticable unless I press my eyeball virtually against the screen.

Seems like as good a place as anywhere to ask, any decent headphone stands knocking about?

I know competitors can't be linked but the names of the stands can :)

Got a pair of Grado sr60i's today and they deserve so much more than to be dumped on top of a scruffy desk.

Could make a nice one from parts from Ikea, or a banna stand or a mug stand with some of the sticks cut and filed CLEAN.

;)

thanks for the help

could you measure the right hand side of the corner unit top to the start of the curve is it about 40cm ? what i mean is the curve you sit in front of how long is it from the end before it starts to curve from right to left.

also the draw unit is the top fixed with cams and pegs or other ? becasue this might be a problem to fix it to the corner unit when not using the draws top

thanks
