*** Desk and Room Gallery***

I'm a student and my desk is also usually pretty tidy. I prefer to have it completely bare on top, but you can't really if you're working on stuff.

My new room, the end of this week I finish the mess.

Here we go then. Just got my Eyefinity setup finished and managed to take some pics:

(click for larger)

Two HP ZR24W screens with a Dell 2408 in the middle. Lubbly jubbly :D The wife's setup is on the right side of the pic, and she only has a lowly 17" screen, but it keeps her happy.

Here is the home office, just converted the office from windows to OSX with brand new apple gear.

2 of my colleagues desks... Messy unlike mine but then i am the IT Admin and obviously dont have much paper work to deal with :P Do hate clutter round the new iMacs though! One even put stickies on the bezel! which then lead to me showing what dashboard was lol

The comms cabinet, this contains both the home and office network as the house is cabled in cat5e same as the office.

from top to bottom:

Mac Pro 8 Core 2010 (snow leopard server) running web, mail. open directory, push notification, ical server. addressbook server, DNS, file services
O2 routers (2 DSL lines)
Panasonic Phone system (provides the phone system and fax line to office)
2620xm cisco router (was used apart of a lab)
2950 cisco switch (again was apart of lab but then used to segment network )
HP Procurve switch gigabit (office switch)
Patch panels for both home and office (Nice neat patching!) Patching sheet included lol

Very nice work area am impressed, is all that networking done by yourself?? and are they all 27" iMacs

Yeah, its my dads company i work as a telecoms engineer so we install cat5e,cat6, multicore, fibre, audio&visual, electrics so when it came to wiring it all it was very easy. Do a lot of comms rooms, changing over cabinets and patching etc so we know what works best.

Networking is all done just by me, yup all top spec i7 processors 27' macs. Very happy with them after comparing the 21.5" i would never compromise on the screen, everything looks so fantastic on them.

My Uni Desk

So this is my Uni Desk well..... my mates too.

Got my 3 screens a few weeks ago but only just got around to taking pictures.

let me know what you think.

I think you need to tidy. Nice kit, baaadddd setup. :P

I see routers on radiators, trailing wires everywhere, vaseline at the ready....

In other news, I have that mouse on the far right, it's surprisingly sick, I stole it from college years ago.

Thanks guys yes its abit messy (only tidied it a few days ago) i don't no how you guys keep it soo tidy. It would have stayed tidier if i hadnt been playing games for about two days straight!

Just so you know that radiator isn't turned on and the router is on the other side of the room its just a dub switch
