Got some temporary speakers in now, just need to get a decent pair of bookshelfs.
 
Hey guys. If you've been after mrk's desk like I have for a week or so, I finally tracked it down for those of you who want it.

It's a steelcase Doue, a range that will be discontinued soon.

if you email steelcase uk and ask about the desk, they can set you up with different sizes, top finishes, leg colours, ect.

It's not a cheap desk but the quality is second to none. (My 1600x800 quoted one was £295 + £50 delivery. Worth it.)

what you do is get the diameter or trace the hole and measure, take that to a specialty sheet metal shop. Its is very easy, I doubt they would charge much if anything at all. You just have to shear a strip to the correct size and feed the strip into the easy edger to get the lip that you want. A little silicone and vioala your done. Its probably a good thing I don't have shop tools at home, as soon as I read this I wanted to go make it so I could show you how easy it is. You just need the proper tools, and those tools are expensive

Moved upstairs yesterday and although I haven't got a proper desk yet it's a nice upgrade from how I've been used to using my pc :)

the room is getting re-decorated, and the carpet is being replaced :p

I just got a swivel chair base, some plywood and some nuts and bolts and attached the chair to the swivel chair base :) well, I say I, I really mean my dad :p

While your room is in that state, get them to run network, phone and power cables *everywhere* you can. Makes life so much easier later on :)
