Thanks

Looks like an ikea custom desk.
Whats the benefit of one of those gameboards over a keyboard?
That £20 IKEA desk is good, I have one upstairs
For me, it's the following:
Ergonomics - The keys seem a more naturally layout for gaming and are easy to find (the WSAD Keys have depressions on them which helps confirm their location). The stick, which also clicks down, and the two keys around them are easy to manage with just my thumb (effectively 7 mappable keys accessible this way).
Comfort - I find my had rests quite naturally on it and don't have any issues with fatigue or cramps etc.
Applets - It's nice to be able to see what my graphics card is doing, for example, using output from Afterburner or EVGA Precision.
Space - I have a compact gaming area so a smaller device like this suits my desk.
Macros - I use these to perform functions such as quick launch of applications usually requiring 2 or 3 key presses and also for quickly entering a password or an email address.
Appearance - It looks nice (in my opinion) with customisable colours etc .
I had a different gameboard previously but couldn't get to grips with it.
Overall, I've found it to be a really sound investment.
I like the Game Applets, especially the Mission Log in Borderlands 2.
But I echo your comments. I can't be without my G13 after I modified that horrible thumbstick.
