I'm casting my beady eye over quite a few sites trying to find a black glass desk that'd work nicely for gaming but am struggling a bit.

I was looking at "BLACK GLASS COMPUTER DESK by Piranha Trading Ltd (PC7)" on the Jungle place which seems quite nice?

Would some kind souls please provide some recommendations? I'm quite tall so need plenty of leg room (so shelving at the bottom is a no no).

Ta muchly! :D

Get an IKEA GALANT desk. Brilliant job. They come in a nice black/brown colour which looks really well.

Hm, nice. Not sure if I like the legs though, they look like car aerials? :p

EDIT: Ahhh they are adjustable - nice!

I have the GALANT in white and it looks pretty good. I have the better looking t-shaped legs. Very good cable management holders that you can stick in below.

What do you mean a desk that would work for gaming?

What special features does a desk need to 'work' for gaming?

Not so much special features, but taking into account that it should be comfortable to sit at for extended periods, and should have ample space. My current one is too high and the front edge irritates me.

I just spotted those, the T Legs look good, although I'm not sure how you get that combo online.... I need to have a measure up really; the desk I have at work is the sort of thing that would be perfect (love the rounded, rubberised front edge) but I can't afford SBFI stuff ;)

Just a warning, i have a black glass desk and they get these really fine scratches in them really easily. They also need a lot of cleaning since the dust and smears show up so easily on them.

Sorry I couldn't find the camera tonight so these are taken on crappy iPhone. The screen is a 27" so you can realise how big the desk is.

This is a close up of a desk corner extension but I have mounted it on IKEA mini legs so that it is a makeshift shelf. IKEA had some instore made up this way and I think is handy.

Cheers for posting those, I'll have a measure up and see if I can fit one of those corner desks in, that's pretty damned nice.

BTW is that a scanner or transciever of some sort on the left hand side? :p

I also have a pc holder which clips onto the desk but you can't really see it well in the photo.

Yep that's a scanner. Keeps me company when working from home!

You definitely don't want a black glass desk, they attract dust like no bodies business, you will always be dusting it! Get a nice wooden one instead, like the one above! In fact, I quite fancy that one myself...

Sadly not quite as entertaining as they used to be seeing as most of the good stuff is now encrypted/digital. :( I'm sure listening to HF can still be really interesting though.
