I have done some googling but havent really found what I wanted so next step is here!

I remembered back in the day I was wowed by having rubbish quality animated jpegs as a desktop background and ofcourse since then my puter has got a lot more powerful. Also I enjoy winamps milkdrop plugin that can do a desktop background animation mode. Then I remembered that videolan also has a desktop overlay mode for making films your backgorund. So the next step was I was wondering if there was a decent repeatable video somewhere of waves ona beach or a water drop or something tranquil like that which I could use as a background when my pc is idling? A nice loopable high quality video to make people go "oooo"

lol. theres a major bug in vista when using dual core cpus with agp graphics. It either wont install the graphics card or you have to uninstall a cpu core. Beleive me if there was a solution I would be on vista. Its not about the computer speed its about the bugs.

Im using agp on vista :) have done for a few months no probs.

Oh and while am here.. try google for drempels desktop :)

That is just what I was looking for :p thanks mate! specially the lake with the waves, thas nice. Gotta find a way for the track change / repeat not to jutter and to stop vlc crashing after a dozen repeats :p

erm actually, would you be able to point me in the direction of a working vlc version? my background mode doesnt seem to work :/

i've got vlc, but the wallpaper mode wasnt working, was cause i didnt have the "show desktop icons" selected on desktop.

pointless faff, just creates problems where there shouldn't be any

btw, they're gif files, no such thing as animated jpeg (not trying to belittle)
