Ok so ive been looking into get a desktop replacement that i can take to uni/work for the downtimes, im studying games design so i need a pretty high end laptop to run new games and software like 3DS max and hammer editor etc.

Got a budget of around £1500, ive been looking at the "titan" series on OCUK and they seem pretty good but also some alienware stuff such as the M17x for possible future upgrades but im hearing lots of bad stuff.

If anyone can point me in the right direction to a nice high end laptop i would much appreciate it.

Desktop replacement laptops are rarely the answer. They definitely aren't the answer for uni. Netbook/cheap notebook plus a desktop computer will be far better.

I started uni with a 17" laptop. It was a mistake, nc10 + quad core desktop is far better.

Its mainly for taking to work tbh (I work full time in a bar with lots of downtime) I want to use my free time there getting some work done, id rather invest a decent amount into a decent laptop then the same amount of cash into a mediocre laptop and desktop, plus my current desktop isnt too bad either
