Hi,

Just put this new build together through upgrading, all parts shown in my sig below.

Fresh install of windows, updated bios, updated drivers from mobo and gpu sites.

My problem lies with the gpu performance, basically it's crap. I had the card in my old system and it was fine there (x58) But when i run the card through some basic stress tests it seems very poor on performance.

Furmark resolution 1280 x 1024 AA off seems to get me just 52 fps, and when i run BF3 the fps starts at 70 and just keeps falling to below 10 until it crashes.

I've disabled the intel graphics, and updated the chipset too.

All parts running at stock speeds.

Does anybody have any clue what i could try next.

Any help will be gratefully received. Thanks Rich.

Ok so i just took a screen shot of GPU-Z whilst running furmark and the bus interface seems to show that it's running at only x4 instead of x16 if i am reading that correctly. I know it should change, as i've compared other screen shots that say @ x16 instead of @ x 4.

I've heard many people having issues with graphics cards drivers who did not fully uninstall the previous version and install the latest one fresh other than just updating. May not help but it has helped others in the past including myself

Yeah the card is in the top slot, and this is a fresh install of windows so there were no drivers.

What do you think about the bus interface speeds? is this down to a driver issue or should i try running at pci-e 2.0 instead, would i lose performance over pci-e 3.0?

Thanks, Rich.

When it crashes what happens. Does it freeze or do you get a blue screen with any error codes?

Have you tried totally uninstalling the drivers already then re-installing?

Yeah thanks guys, i've changed the pci-e slot to 2.0 and it's running BF3 fine on ultra settings now.

I guess maybe an updated driver is needed for full compatability.

Thanks for your time helping me.

Rich.

I've changed my mobo to the one in my sig, much better board.

Anyway, the x16 pci-e3.0 is now resolved, if you compare the bus interface above and this one i just did.
