Destroying artex..

Horrible job scraping off artex high spots, had four rooms here with artex finish, it was loose, so completely removed the lot, & I screwed all the ceilings as two were sagging in places, save problems later, then I skimmed four ceilings.:(
Still have artex to remove from the kitchen ceiling, I'm getting too old for all that work now.:(

You will need to bond the old artex first before plastering over it.
PVA mixed one part PVA to four parts water, brush on & let it dry first, then skim.

But, I tend to board other nowadays & use Screws to fix then applied a skim coat.

Ceiling I think I would tear it down and start fresh but this is the walls so not much I can do apart from either skim over it or remove it completely...which is not a job I fancy doing at the moment...I'm still digging out my front garden to get parking grid in place and it's killing me!!! lol
