Detailing Products

At first I thought the water magnet was ace. Paradigm warned me with time it would become bad. He was right. It's not pretty not absorbent and also leaves swirlies all over the paint. I have followed the manufacturers cleaning guidelines for the towel too.

I can't imagine a normal waffle weave towel costing much so I think I will just get some of these from a local trade place I use for work.

my usual detail is as follows.

Wash with Chemical Guys Citrus wash and gloss. Use Chemical Guys heavy Duty Orange degreaser under wheel arches and in engine bay.
Megs all wheel cleaner on alloys.
Wash off with hose pipe.
Dry with sonus der wunder!!!
Apply race glaze inside the arches and poorboys wheel sealent to the wheels.
Megs Endurance gloss on tyres.
Super resin polish, wipe off.
Chemical Guys Jetseal 109, leave for 15mins, wipe off.

Then, either a coat of P21S or poorboys nattys blue wax to finish off.

Interior i just use megs interior cleaner spray.

edit: im not pimping chemical guys, its just the best stuff and i didnt pay for it so...

I usually do the following:

1) Allow 12 months of road grime to build up so that results will be fully realised and get maximum benefit.
2) Take to ARC car wash
3) Spend £3 on the budget wash
4) Order wife to vac the inside
5) Look forward to next years clean.

However when I had my civic VTi I spent 3 days doing the works inside and out, took out the seats, bits of the engine etc and got the thing looking like new and kept it like that.

Fox get yourself down Lidl/Aldi and spend out on some cheap microfibre cloths! I think they are like 2 for 99p or something silly! and they are exactly the same as the rip off ones at halfrauds! I swear by em :)

I use cheap microfibre cloths, 3 for a pound, 4 for a pound or whatever. I've got some "quality" ones too which were a pound each from poundland.

Don't laugh. The £1 each ones from poundland are the real deal and do a fantastic job.

Silver? By hand? SRP... SRP... SRP.

Get some sealant for your wheels, either chemical guys or poorboys. Get some last touch QD... get some meg's gold class or CG citrus wash for your shampoo.... does it need claying? Sonus green should do it....get some meg's APC for your arches....get some dressing for your tyres...whatever you feel the most comfortable with....possibly get a glaze, I use meg's #7, could also use hd cleanse... :D

And as for wax.... collnite or victoria wax concours or whatever FOTM is (dodo juice/VW Concours etc?). May, depending on what sort of finish you want your car to have, be worth ditching the wax for a sealant. I think CG do jetseal which is apparently excellent.
