Deus Ex: Human Revolution

I pre-ordered the game for my younger brother from Steam as a gift. It cost £29.99 and he had downloaded it by the time he went to bed last night. We debated on ordering if from an e-tailer with next day delivery but that cost more than it was on Steam and he was only going to activate the CD key through Steam when it arrived anyway.

Won't you find it weirder or more annoying if they did wake up like that then proceedeed to sound oor not sound the alarms. I felt it was a good design choice for balanceing the numbers needed for tradtional FPS shoting without hampering/slowing the stealth gameplay too much (i.e sitting around w8ing for guards to stop being alarmed.

Not really no. In real life if you KO'd someone and then left, at some point they would regain consciousness or be found and then you would go looking for the culprit - I would therefore expect the same thing in a game like this.

If a guard at my place of work didn't report in, or fail to respond for calls for a considerable period I would expect others to go looking for him, again, would expect attempts to locate culprit once guard had been found.

This is a game in which you are a man with robot arms. There are concessions to reality.

Games have to compromise between reality and fun. If that means I can drift preposterously in NFS:Hot Pursuit, then that's great, because it's fun. If that means a cyborg man can knock out people and leave them like that for hours at a time, then that's great too, because it's fun.

Been playing this most of the day, not that far through though as I kept restarting everytime I was spotted, reading what trophies there are has somewhat ruined the experience so far as I'm going out of my way not to kill anyone and as a result I missed saving the hostages on the first (or is it technically the second) mission? Can you replay missions? I know you can view your progress of them but couldn't see a replay option

Might have to start from the beginning again before I get too far in.....

What the hell is up with the purple store? They've never let me down until now. I had a despatch email on Tuesday but still nothing in the mail today. They're site is down too. Please don't tell me they been hacked! :(

I would not use them again. My copy turned up with the official wrapper gone and one of their branded stickers on so it's clearly been opened.

A near perfect game for me, great music ,and a fullfills nearly all of my Bladerunner fantasies.
Just let down by stiff animations, still a small price to pay for a top quality game:)

Purple didnt deliver despite the fact it was dispatched sunday. Gonna go to supermarket in a bit to get it, dont wanna risk it not being delivered tomorrow then not have it for the weekend :/

Bought it from Tesco for £37 on Xbox and going to fire into it tonight! Can't wait, the other Deus Ex games were great... up there in amoungst my top games ever! :)

The chat on Giantbomb was that it's best to just go with it. Just roll with it and see what happens. You are usually well enough equipped to get out of any mess you make, so just improvise.

Although I appreciate that doesn't quite work if you're whoring for achievements/trophies ;)

I dunno, it's just not clicking with me. There aren't enough bullets to go around shooting, you don't have enough energy cells to knock people out so the game is forcing you to be stealthy. :(

You can improve the amount of energy you have and I am finding bullets everywhere, I've barely used stealth at all
