Why don't you and your mum/family move?

Seems like the simplest answer, if you can't get them out.

Although... I would have done some evil things to them by now

...such as doors slamming, drawers banging, overly loud talking, appliances running (think washer), shouting, knocking sounds on the walls etc all during unsocial hours.

The above is not that bad really, I could be a lot worse!

If it bothers you that much get some ear plugs, I am a really light sleeper and I can sleep through anything with mine in. I dont even notice them anymore.

I know you shouldnt have to etc etc, but it would solve your problems.
