Hey all,

After turning on my computer today and logging in, I noticed the 'Found new hardware' sound was playing every 3 seconds without fail. Surely enough after having a look at device manager I can the list is constantly refreshing, but nothing as far as I can see is being removed/added from any of the categories in the process.

I've tried restarting and it was only after unplugging all USB devices that this message started coming up...

Clicking on it led to:

I'm at a total loss as to what to do from here, or where to find what's causing this... :(

EDIT: Windows 7, didn't make any hardware or software changes last time the computer was on, and my God this beeping sound will be the end of me.

You should be able to unplug the case speaker.

Check the event logs to see what's going on.

Plug the devices back in one by one, hopefully it will sort itself out.

There were no USB devices plugged in and the sound & message still appeared, and I'm unsure which is the relevent log in Event Viewer to find where or what's causing this, as seemingly none of them are noting an event every 3 seconds.

This is a weird problem for sure. Couple of suggestions here I might try... Reset your CMOS and if it keeps happening (with no USB devices connected) then try disconnecting your front panel USB ports from the board to see if the issue persists. Shot in the dark here but worth a try....
