Rank S dx 9 on win xp pro edition. All set to performance mode in CCC and default settings in the game. Rig was as in sig but e6600 was at 2.9ghz and 830 core on my 3870. Maybe do another run later after i overclock my machine to see what i can really get. Tried taking a screen shot but did not work.

DX9 - 158.62/121.24/207.44/113.78

Didn't write me scores down, DOH!
Will do so tomorrow.
BUT, I certainly did not get anything like that much of a hit in DX10.
However, aside from a few bits of nice DX10 smoke, it does look exactly the same.

Having said that, Vista wont let me do 1680x1050, instead it wants 1680x900 so that might account for the reduced, errm reduction in FPS.
It also overrides the NV control panel, so you must set MSAA in the demo itself.
Not much of a hit with 16QCSAA surprisingly, minimum fps was 45, whereas it decimates some games.

stock settings and default CCC settings,

DX9 142/109/193/103

DX10 107/93/136/76

just ran it again at 1920x1080 all maxed out with 4xAA and got this,

DX9 68/46/91/61

Sorry but the music was so awful that I stopped it after about 1min and immediately uninstalled it.

This game won't be going anywhere near my machine again.

Sorry if that's bit off topic.

Vista64 Dx9
128.11 89.59 175.34 88.09
Vista64 Dx10
96.04 65.34 138.20 69.26
Vista64 Dx10 C16Q MSAA
59.32 42.84 82.8042.95

XP32 Dx9
133.88 96.28 179.82 92.00
Xp32 Dx9 C16QMSAA
91.62 66.87 117.14 61.75

And yes, that music is painful. It's a style that only exists in the heads of marketing scum, "techno metal" covering as many demographics as possible, it is rife in driving games.

If they wanted electronically based heavy rock, maybe they should have phone Trent Reznor instead, at least he's talented.

All settings to super high with 8xCSAA

Vista 64, DX9:

165.21 161.04 207.26 87.94

Vista 64. DX10:

Engage the rofflecopters gentlemen.

232.62 209.72 246.13 140.89

All settings at default.

A dx 10 game that runs THAT much better than the dx9 version? My chair, I am falling out of it.

High resolution benchies to follow.

Vista 64 DX9 2560x1600 16xAAQ everything on 'Super High'

63.55 48.39 68.49 49.87

Vista 64 DX10 2560x1600 16xAAQ everything on 'Super High'

45.61 32.86 46.93 35.59

I've noticed this time and time again, DX10 provides a minor to impressive boost in fps at medium resolutions but utterly falls on it's posterior at high resolutions. I'm not sure why this is.

To those that say they can't see a difference between DX9 & 10, look again at how the 2D objects are rendered. As CoH and Bioshock have shown, they do not properly intersect the 3d world and hense look flat. In DX10 they look far more impressive and '3d'.

Tried downloading this yesterday but it stopped at 20% and refused to reconnect. Gonna leave it going again overnight and see if I have any better look.

Wow.. that game may look fantastic in screenshots but the animations, weapon effects and other effects in general just suck. I'm generally entertained by graphics tests but watching the character just use the same move over and over while in God mode just doesn't cut it for me. Especially when there are so many bits that look so bad.

Sure the buildings look nice but the amount of clipping is unreal, the movements are jerky, the characters are unimaginative and what the hell is with those pathetic blood spatters when he was fighting the big dragon?

Such a terrible looking game, I turned off my speakers and was sorely tempted to go read a book while it was finishing.

Anyway here is my screenshot, rank C, settings were:

1680x1050,
8xAA,
Everything Super High,
V-sync On.

And thankyou but no, I won't be upgrading my gpu and cpu, 38fps is just fine with me especially when it's v-synced.

Most likely because of the 16AAQ on DX10 at 2560x1600 has slightly over maxed the mem or bus.

I get better fps on DX10 2560x1600 than on DX9.
