Devil May Cry 5

If you dont like you are in the minority it's like 92%+ user rating on steam

Fair enough, I guess that's the risk of giving game codes away to people who wouldn't have bought the game. I should emphasise - it looks incredible, and it runs well.

It just really rubs me up the wrong way, its like Deadpool crossed with Twilight. I guess it's a generational thing.

Also, why do i have the words STARRING THE DMC CREW on my screen all the time?

Played 3 hours so far and it's perfect. It's lost nothing over the 11 years since DMC4 and it feels and plays great, and damn does it look amazing. I'm gunna put hundreds of hours into this I reckon. I easily had over 100 hours on DMC4 on PS3 completing every difficulty and everyone so often I load it just to have a bash at Bloody Palace.

I love DMC!

That's the AI, the symbol will tell you which character it is, robot arm + sword is Nero, pistols and sword is Dante and cane + shadows is V. Sometimes if you can connect to someone they will be playing in real time comparing scores. It's really weird and I dont get the point of it myself.

Basically missions are split perspectives.

Got this from AMD Rewards. Applied widescreen fix, works well.

My impression after an hour? Just imagine if everyone involved in this game had done something worthwhile with their talent instead. All that amazing technology and artistry deployed in service of a schlocky sub-B-movie mess that would make an immature 13 year old embarrassed by its tone and content. Who is it even made for? It makes Marvel movies look like War and Peace. The music is god-awful EDM. The gameplay is terrible, floaty, with poor feedback.

(FWIW I really enjoyed REmake2, and that had Capcom's similar B-movie vibe.)

Uhm is this your first dmc game? Music is subjective anyway but I felt its always suited the style of the game and its been similiar in all dmc games

First REmake 2 now this. Capcom is on a roll, looking forward to the usual over-the-top cringefest:p
Tbh the humour has improved a ton, genuinely gave me some laughs. I love the series but the previous games had me laugh in very "nice one, dad" kinda ways. :D

Nice to hear, though I don't mind the cringe, suits the game well:p RE2 also gives of a crappy b-horror vibe but the atmosphere improved dramatically due to darker locations and soundwork.

You think so? I thought the dialogue was miles above previous RE games, and the facial mocap! Oh lord the facial mocap. I love how you can tell Claire has a big thing for Leon and Leon is firmy aboard the Ada train just from the acting. Acting in a video game of all things, the industry is so impressive now.

Well, yeah, no comparison to previous ones but I didn't like Leon's performance too much. Mocap was great. Overall, it's a great and very polished remake, though. When I first entered those dark corridors and Leon took out the flashlight I was like "oh, yes!" (Should've probably been "hell no!":p)

looking forward to puttig some hours in on this, love the DMC series. This is getting good reviews and apparently looks amazing so fingers crossed it plays well on my machine

Yeah I'm on the fence with Leon, I think it was more his lines than the acting though. Lot's of awkward "okay" replies to the weirdest stuff and he didn't seem like a naive rookie like in the classic at all, he felt very similar to Leon in 6 who's a bloody zombie veteran at that point!

The lighting is fantastic, but the atmosphere was let down a lot by the zombie sounds, the walking dead gargles just aren't as scary as the empty moans of old. They felt more like infected than actual zombies.

I'm playing on mostly high settings, AA at a stable 60 fps and I'm running an i5-2500k and gtx 970 :p You should be more than fine!

Damn, this game runs extremely well for me at 1440p maxed with a 1070, also looks very nice and is really fun. Capcom did a great job with both this and RE2. As soon as Mission 1's intro sequence started rolling, "yep, it's DMC":p
