Devloper boards?

I don't personally consider plugging one cable into my phone an inconvenience, but granted others might and just want a standalone unit for their tv.

What do you mean I can't use it when it's plugged in?

You can't really use it as a phone or anything else while using it as a HTPC. Hence a standalone device is so much better, even if they are essentially the same.

I can still phone and text while connected to the TV, there aren't any restrictions I'm aware of when connected via hdmi.

Or do you mean that I can't play videos and phone/text simultaneously? That I can't, although phone calls + video playback may possible via a bluetooth headset, but I cba trying that :p

this, phone connection to a tv os fine for hotels, or odd film round a mates. But it's no HTPC solution.

Ah ok fair enough, I can definitely see the appeal.

Technically it is a htpc option, just an expensive one if used solely for that purpose. :p

Sorry for taking this thread a little OT, will go to bed now!
