I've just got these for my parents and the wifi clone feature doesn't seem to be working...I've gone through the manual but the TIVO V6 box (about 2/3 feet away, clear LoS) barely sees any improvement in wifi signal, which is sat at poor.

Surely it mustn't have cloned properly. Any ideas?

If you have a Powerline adapter within 3' of the box why don't you use a network cable?

For the wireless try setting it up manually using a different SSID (at least temporarily). You'll then be able to see which wireless the box is connecting to.

We are...I was just testing the wireless functionality because it also extends the wifi, which it doesn't seem to be doing despite following the instructions.

Have you checked the speed the powerline adapters are getting by hooking a laptop up to it by ethernet?

It's highly likely the powerline adapters are slower than the wifi that was already there

We can get 100mbits over the sockets...but regardless of speed I’d still expect full signal from the WiFi extender.

You would expect to see a stronger signal.

If for whatever reason the automated wireless setup isn't working set it up manually instead.
