So I bought the Devolo dLAN 1200+ Wi-Fi AC Powerline Starter Kit with an additional socket to extended the wifi round my house.

Now one thing I have noticed is they don't actually amply the existing wifi signal as first thought but instead clone the existing wifi using the power line. Those devices are connected to it's wif, actually show as a LAN connection on the router. I don't have a problem with that.. but my question is when moving from one room to the next, do devices automatically switch to the best signal available or stay with the original connect?

I would imagine they would stick the the previous connection unless you disconnect from the wifi and then re-connect at which point it should connect to the access point with the strongest signal.

Having a seamless handover between access points isn't very common outside of mesh type systems and i wouldn't imagine the Devolos incorporating it.

This was my thinking.. I used a wifi tester on my phone and disconnected/reconnected. Re connection showed a significant increase which suggests what you say.

Thanks
