With Netgear V3.01.38 firmware on my DG834G V2 router I have perfect connection on CS:S, no loss or choke and 100tick e.t.c

Installed the DGTeam firmware and my internet connection appears fine, even pulls slighty more download speed on speedtest.net, however a lot of CS:S servers suffer from around 30 loss and only appear as around 67 tick (When they are 100).

Revert back to netgear firmware and all is fine again.

Did a tracert using both firmwares. (First trace is using DGteam, 2nd is with netgear official)

Any ideas whats happening here? I'm not to clued up on all this lark.

same happened to me when I had a DG834, I found disabling SPI cures it.

Thanks, think I might as well just stay with the official firmware for now. I didn't really see what all the fuss was about, I was hoping it would bring the wireless back to a decent distance but it made no difference.

The fuss is that you can tweak your connection to get a higher connection speed and it adds a lot of extra features, obvilously if a basic user such as yourself ain't gonna notice much difference. As said above it's the SPI firewall blocking the connection you just need relaxe the settings a bit.
