DGTeam Firmware

The latest -835 seems more flaky than the previous version (which i have also tried), i simply added the info about the command line as maybe worth trying prior to flashing custom firmware :)

True, the latest does seem a little dodgy. I'm still on 73x (I forget the exact number).

I just found commandline so annoying on the old routers - having to enable debug mode, login, issue commands, never powercycle or have to redo it....so tedious.

Well, I managed to get hold of a fairly recent Netgear (Sky branded) DG834GT for a few £s, so will let you know how I get on...

Bought a Sky branded Netgear DG834GT, but having great difficulty unlocking it, I have tried just about everything in This thread, but to no avail....when I run the UpgradeWizard, it picks up the realtek ethernet, but freezes when I try to run flash, the ethernet icon is given a yellow exclamation mark, saying it cannot get an ip address.

I am able to connect to the DG834GT via the web interface, and have already flashed it (successfully) to an earlier Sky firmware, I am using an XP environment, have also tried another 2 computers, one with a Marvell (Vista) ethernet and the other with an Intel ethernet (XP)....

Anbody any other suggestions I could try to unlock this?

Thanks...

If that doesn't work, try upgrading your network card drivers, otherwise use another pc if you have access to one - edit - sorry i didn't read you've tried it on other pcs :( I take it you have tried resetting it with a paperclip.
Also which firmware did you use for the second flash? I used the latest which worked (v1.02.16). Also possibly the firmware file is corrupt - try downloading it again.

I've just flashed a Sky DG834GT to DGTeam 0.743 and running at 50% SNR (3dB) to see if there are any disconnections during the night. The router options on the DG834GT make the BeBox look like....well....pretty poor!

Give your NIC a static IP address and try it.

Unfortunately, that didn't work either...

It doesn't even get past the first flash, I am using 1.02.04...

I hit this problem when doing my GT, but it was because I did not read the instructions properly....I skimmed over them!! I missed out the part where you have to hold the reset button in while powering and waiting for the two flashing lights, after this the "flashing" software worked.

Are you definately getting two alternate flashing lights?

I followed this guide....

I did it all as per that JJClements site and as it was upgrading the laptop I was using just died. Then when I tried again, it didn't pick up anything in the devices part of the updater.

Someone further down that page had had the same problem and got round it like so:

Here is what I did.
Placed the 834PN firmware in the utility folder and renamed it firmware.img. Followed the instructions to the device list. Do not press next. Delete the firmware and put in the real 834GT firmware (renamed to firmware.img) into the folder. Then upgrade as usual.
Yay.
and it worked for me.

I'm now stuck because although I got the DGTeam firmware onto it no problem, and could connect to the router both wired and wireless, and the router was saying it was connected to the internet, nothing I connected to the router was able to connect to the internet, so I'm stumped. I left it for about an hour while I watched some TV, no luck, so I just stuck the BeBox back in for now.

I think I had a similar problem because I had set a manual IP address or something.
Another problem I had was because I copied down the WEP key wrong, and thought I was doing it right.

Is it just that web pages don't load? If so, you may have to play around with your TCPIP settings.

I tried that also earlier on, I actually worked my way down the whole of that webpage, and nothing worked, hence the reason why I am calling it a day, on this one anyway, have already bought another UNlocked DG834GT...

Is this firmware likely to help improve my connection. Despite living in London I seem to have a 2Km cable run from the exchange so get bad stats:

Now have a DG834GT flashed with V1.01.32 - DGTeam Rev. 0743 firmware, have adjusted "SNR Percentage" to 70% about 10 hours ago, how long does it take for this setting to affect your Sync speed (as yet there is no incease), if it actually is going to work, I am on the O2 Access package (BT Wholesale)?

Rest of settings in Advanced ADSL Settings are:

Also, are there any other settings elsewhere (in the router options), that I can change to increase Sync speed?

Thanks.

Got this sorted, after flashing to DGTeam firmware initially, I did not reset it, how, after doing reset new SN has kicked in...

Put the MAC address of your BeBox into the Netgear.
