Ok ... I have a little...or maybe not so little problem

For some odd reason, my Dhcp server is no longer giving out addresses, or to be more specific, it seems to only give out new addresses to brand new machines that have never been introduced to the domain before....

I suspect maybe it has something to do with mac addresses?

ipconfig/renew will just timeout and give me the error that the DHCP server couldnt be contacted, however those clients that already had leases before are working fine :(

this server has been working fine for the past 2 years, there is a secondary DHCP server with a separate scope however this does the same thing :S

anyidea why this might be happening :S

Have you introduced any new switches/routers between the clients and the DHCP servers? If so you may need to alter them to let DHCP broadcast packets through.

3com switches yes...thing is its been working fine for the past week with the new switches.....only thing i can think of is the DHCP lease running out :S

Try a different NIC in one of the machines that doesn't pickup an IP and that will see if your MAC theory is right, is a bit of a weird on though.
